Attiva opens Barbados health club
UK-based fitness franchise company Attiva opened a new 510sq m (5,500sq ft) club in Barbados last month, thanks to the signing of a master franchise for the eastern Caribbean with Tony Sealey.
The club opened in the Sheraton Centre, one of the main shopping malls in the south of the island and attracted 220 new members its first week.
It features a café, group exercise studio, sauna and steamroom and a 60-station gym equipped by SportsArt, which has signed an agreement to supply all the fitness equipment for Attiva’s first 10 clubs.
Next year, Attiva plans to open a club in the north of Barbados with Barbados-born Sealey, and also plans to look at potential sites in Antigua and Tobago.
