Clevedon club in management buy out
The Health Club in Clevedon, North Somerset, has been acquired by personal trainer Mike Neck and the club's general manager Jonathan Hughes.
The pair will take over the running of the club and have already outlined their plans for a refurbishment of the club, which is housed in a Grade II-listed building.
The revamp will include a newly mirrored class studio, an upgrading of the club's resistance equipment, professional deep cleaning of the club, new therapies, and an extension to the current mezzanine floor.
The mezzanine extension is set to host a new cardiovascular section and will offer views over the town of Clevedon.
Mike Neck, who has worked at the club for the past two years before the take over, said" " It has always been a dream of mine to own my own gym and I'm really pleased it is an already established club in a great area.
"I believe The Health Club has a lot of potential but has needed more resistance equipment and a bigger stretching area to go with our existing equipment, like a lot of the bigger private clubs in the surrounding areas around so am looking forward to implementing all of the changes".
Necks partner in the venture, Jonathan Hughes, who has been at the club since 2006, said: "It will be a pleasure to work alongside Mike to introduce the exciting changes alongside the already fantastic facilities we offer as a private club.
"This is great news for existing and new members at a time where money is tight as we are offering new facilities, freezing our prices and introducing a pay as you go membership so we can help anyone reach there goals whatever there goal with our fully qualified friendly staff."
