Fitness First opens club at Arsenal's former stadium
Arsenal Football Club's former Highbury stadium in north London has become the home of Fitness First's latest club.
The £2.2m facility opens today (23 June) and forms a part of the Highbury Square Development.
The club boasts 20,000sq ft (1,900sq m) of work out space and the glass roof covering the club's pool and spa area has been integrated into the estate's landscaped gardens.
Life Fitness and Technogym have supplied the club's equipment while the group exercise studio and separate group cycling studios will offer a wide range of classes - including Zumba and Fitness First's own Get Fit with Mel B programme.
The new club also houses a freestyle area where members can use the latest developments in fitness equipment and techniques such as 'functional training' which encourages free movement.
Members can use this designated space and its kit - which includes ViPRs, TRX bands, Kettle Bells and Power Plates - either on their own, or with the assistance of a personal trainer.
