Fitness4less to launch new Southend gym
Low-cost health club operator Fitness4less has announced it has secured a lease for a new 20,000sq ft (1,858sq m) gym at a Southend shopping centre, which is due to open in May.
Located on the first floor of the Victoria Shopping Centre, the new fitness club will provide membership at a flat fee of £14.99 per month and inclusive of all facilities and classes.
The new Fitness4less site will be equipped with at least 150 pieces of equipment and include a unisex and ladies-only gym; a large free weights area; a class studio; and a spinning studio.
A Powerzone nightclub themed area with large screen will also be included as part of the new club, in addition to changing spaces with showers.
Victoria Shopping Centre managing director Bill Harkness said: "Customers can now plan their fitness regime around their shopping, or on their way home from work."
Fitness4less operations director Steve Bradley added: "We expect demand for membership to be high, as January is the best time for people to want to get into shape."
Southend is one of three clubs expected to join the Fitness4less portfolio in May, with clubs in Cardiff and Sutton also set to accompany nine existing sites across the country.
