Free gym facilities at new club
A personal trainer in Gloucestershire has decided to offer free access to facilities when he opens a second health club in September.
Dan Gabb, of Dan Gabb Personal Training in Bourton-on-the-Water, said clients will only be charged for personal training sessions, with free access to all other facilities in the 7,000sq ft club.
These include a Star Trac-equipped CV gym, spa bath and steamroom.
“Clients will be paying for service, not facilities,” said Gabb. “This puts pressure on us to perform well all the time, because we won’t have memberships to back us up.
“I understand this concept is revolutionary to the point of being risky, but customer satisfaction is everything to us and I’m 100 per cent sure we can do it.”
Gabb opened his first club in Winchcombe in 2003. The club, which works with referrals from GPs, physiotherapists and osteopaths, has grown to employ eight personal trainers working with more than 100 members.
As well as offering one-to-one personal training, the club also holds group sessions every evening, which have proved extremely popular.
Costing £60 per month, the sessions guarantee one personal trainer per eight clients and members can attend as many sessions as they wish.
