Greens Health and Fitness joins TAG
Health club operator Greens Health and Fitness has partnered with Transforming a Generation (TAG), the charity training disadvantaged young people to be fitness instructors.
The gym chain is offering TAG students an opportunity to gain valuable work experience as fitness instructors and a gateway into the fitness industry.
As part of the deal, Greens has taken on a group of young people for a four-month work placement programme.
To date, TAG has helped more than 500 disadvantaged young people break their 'worklessness cycle' by gaining a qualification, as well as life changing work experience.
TAG aims to help young people break the 'no-of-experience-so-can't-get-a-job-so-can't-get-experience' cycle by using industry supporters – such as Greens – to gain employment.
Chris Ayres, Greens Health & Fitness' managing director, said: "We are extremely pleased to be supporting TAG, as the scheme is an ideal way for us to help disadvantaged young people as well as to gain valuable staff, trained by us and eager to work in our business.
“TAG fulfills our corporate social responsibility portfolio and makes clear business sense."
TAG was founded by Fred Turok, chair of the Fitness Industry Association (FIA) and the founder and chair of LA Fitness.
