Help Dave help the heroes!
David Stalker, executive director of the Fitness Industry Association (FIA), is putting himself (and his body) on the line in the aid of the Help for Heroes charity.
Stalker will be part of a six-man team that is attempting to complete an arduous fitness challenge on the Versaclimber - a climbing exercise machine.
The team will attempt to climb the equivalent of the seven highest peaks of the seven continents in just 24-hours, the equivalent of more than 150,000 ft (45,700m).
The team will be raising money for Help for Heroes, the charity set up to help the wounded servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq.
Stalker said: "I agreed to this thanks to one of those crazy decisions that you make when your mind thinks you're still 26, even though you're actually 46. I blame it entirely on a momentary lapse of sanity.
"However, every now and then we agree to do things because we believe 'we should do' rather than because 'we can do'.
"So please do support us. Our feat will be great, but it is nothing compared to the physical and mental traumas faced by the brave and sometimes broken heroes on their return from the battlefront."
The challenge will take place on 7 May. For more information and to make a sponsorship donation, visit http://www.justgiving.com/davestalker.
