Kenyatta University reveals plans for 30,000-seat stadium in Nairobi, Kenya

Under the umbrella of Kenya Vision 2030, The DLR Group have released designs for a 30,000 seat stadium for Kenyatta University, near Nairobi, Kenya.
Kenya's Ministry of Sports, Culture and Arts intends for 20 new stadia to be built by 2030, and DLR’s proposed scheme fits the bill.
Situated next to Kenyatta University’s main campus Kahawa, 15 miles from Nairobi city centre, the stadium will be multi-purpose and provide fitness & wellness facilities for university students, as well as recreational and meeting spaces.
Designed to host FIFA-sponsored soccer matches and International Association of Athletics Federation sponsored track events the stadium will have a capacity of 25,000 - that can be expanded to 30,000.
Currently at the concept phase, DLR Group have carried out masterplanning, sustainable consulting and architecture services for the scheme so far.
