New gym proposed for St Helens hotel
A new gym is to be created at the Park Inn by Radisson St Helens Hotel - recently acquired by the Radisson Group - as part of a wider revamp of the property.
The new 144sq m (1,550sq ft) gym will double the size of the existing fitness suite and is to become one of the first in northern England to feature Precor's Experience Series 880 line. A former function room will be combined with the existing fitness facility to create the gym, which has followed six months of planning and design. Building work will take four weeks.
Two designated exercise areas - one for cardiovascular and one for resistance - will be on offer, with the hotel investing £90,000 in the installation of Precor equipment. Park Inn by Radisson St Helens fitness manager said: "The intention of the refurbishment is to bring the gym and the hotel back to its former glory."
First opened in 1992, the 84-room hotel also features a swimming pool; a steamroom; a spa pool; a sauna; and a restaurant, along with a bar and meeting rooms.
