New health club and spa for Burntwood Court
The Burntwood Court complex near Barnsley in Yorkshire has added a new health and fitness club to its existing facilities.
The new extension includes a large gym with 95 workout stations comprising of cardiovascular equipment provided by Technogym, resistance machines, a free-weight zone and a dedicated boxing area.
Other facilities include two yoga suites, a spinning room and four squash courts. The health and fitness area is complemented by a full service day spa. Spa facilities include three treatment rooms, a nail salon, hydrotherapy pool, a sauna and steamroom.
Treatments will be provided by ESPA, Creative, Bio Sculpture, and St Tropez. Located on 35 acres of Burntwood Court’s existing amenities comprise a 40-room hotel with conferencing facilities, a 280-capacity banqueting suite, two restaurants and two bars.
John Saul, owner of the hotel, said: “My aim was to develop leisure facilities that complemented the hotel and appealed to a wider clientele. We’ve already received positive feedback on the new facility and expect to reach 2,500 members in our first year.”
Burntwood Court started as a private squash club in 1980 and at the time included a restaurant and a bar.
It has since grown into a leisure destination and a hotel was built on the site in 2001.
