Parkwood opens flagship private health club
Parkwood Health and Fitness – the private health club arm of leisure management contractor Parkwood Leisure – has opened its flagship club in Salisbury, Wiltshire.
The 2,323sq m (25,000sq ft), two-storey, purpose built facility was designed by Covent Garden-based architects Brimelow McSweeney.
The shell of the building existed prior to the development and the fit out cost £2.8m.
The club features a 20m swimming pool, a 128-station Precor fitness suite, two dance studios, a group cycling studio, a health and beauty spa, sunbeds, sauna and steamroom as well as an Italian restaurant, Café Vita.
The club has the capacity for 3,000 members and, on opening, had 500 already signed up.
Membership costs £49 per month, with annual memberships costing £529.
Andrew Holt, managing director of Parkwood Leisure, said: “I am pleased to see the successful progression of our new private sector brand, Parkwood Heath and Fitness, and I am certain that the members of the Salisbury club will be delighted with the facilities on offer.”
Parkwood Health and Fitness also operates two clubs in Hertfordshire.
