Phoenix Nights star launches new gym
New purpose-built gym facilities at LPC Living’s new Lakeside development in Blackley, Manchester, have been launched by actor and comedian Paddy McGuinness.
McGuinness, who stars in Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy’s Road to Nowhere, officially opened the fitness suite which has been incorporated into a new £16.5m housing development which will accommodate approximately 350 people.
The £223,000 exclusive gym complex, including changing rooms, sauna and steam room, is 130sq m (1,400sq ft) and residents of the new development will be able to use it for free.
LPC’s spokesperson said: “The cost of running and maintaining the facilities is part of the service charge for the development, but there are no additional charges.” As part of LPC Living’s healthy living promotion, residents will also receive a free hour-long fitness session with a personal trainer when they move in.
LPC Living is a property development and urban regeneration company for first time buyers operating in the north west of England. At the end of 2005, it had £100m of regeneration schemes and over 1,000 units in construction.
A similar project in Letchworth, Hertfordshire, developed by the Manchester based PJ Livesey group, is due to open in spring 2007. Its facilities will include one of the company’s GL-14 gyms, with swimming pool and spa. Details: www.lpcliving.co.uk
