SEAT launches ultimate competition
On 1 July, car company SEAT will launch a six month event for gym members of all ages and abilities to compete for the title of SEAT Ultimate Competitor of the Year.
In an exclusive deal with QJ Media, the competition will be based upon stamina and endurance levels of gym members across a number of disciplines and will run until 31 December.
Taking part in three stages, the first stage of the event will happen in 250 private health clubs across the UK that have been selected for their proximity to SEAT dealerships.
There will be branded entry forms in all the venues each competition site has allocated an event co-ordinator.
Competitors will need to complete an 8,000m row, a 40km cycle and a 10km run, although these are amassed distances and don’t need to be completed in one go.
The second stage will involve more stamina and endurance tests with the top entrants then taking part in a grand final for the SEAT competitor title and trophy, which will be held in London.
There will be a male and female overall winner, while, for the duration of the event, SEAT will give away over £50,000 worth of prizes including a SEAT Ibiza FR car. The event will also be backed by a £750,000 media campaign.
Marianne Steel, national communications manager for SEAT UK, said: “This is an exciting promotion for SEAT as it marks the first foray into the gym market.”
The managing director of QJ Media, Nial Jordan, added: “The sizeable investment that SEAT has committed to this campaign is a huge thumbs up for the gym market.”
