September opening for Fitness First's flagship site
Health club operator Fitness First will open a new £2m flagship club in London's Baker Street in September.
Facilities at the 14,000sq ft (1,300sq m) centre will include a 20m swimming pool, a 14sq ft Reebok boxing ring, a group exercise studio and a spinning studio.
The club will boast a 122-station CV area, with each piece of kit being linked to a Cardio Theatre programme. In the pool space, a relaxation area adjacent to the pool will include a sauna and steamroom.
There will also be 97 pieces of resistance equipment and a 1,300sq ft (126sq m) free weights area, supplied by Life Fitness.
The club will offer a wide range of group exercises, including yoga, pilates, body pump, body combat and body balance.
Designed by Ant Architecture, the club has set out to attract corporate members and has set out a membership target of around 4,000.
The opening is the company's second new site in London this year, following the launch of a £1m facility in Haringey, North London, in May. Last year, Fitness First opened six new sites across the UK.
