Wigan leisure trust launches Al Fresco activities
Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust’s Active Living Team has launched a year-long series of low-price outdoor activities called Al Fresco.
Unveiled at Gin Pit Village, near Tyldesley, on 1 March, with events including a guided health walk through Colliers Wood, a pram push and an orienteering session, information was made available on activities such as canoeing and sailing tuition, guided cycling sessions, golf taster days and crown green bowling tuition courses.
Judith Kershaw, Active Living co-ordinator for Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, said: “We are working closely with partner organisations who have experienced coaches to deliver the sessions.
“The programme of activities are tailored for those people who may not have any experience of these types of events, or those who just fancy getting fitter or simply want to try out something new. These activities are available to everyone.”
She added: “There really is something for everyone and the activities will be taking place right across the borough so there will be lots of opportunities for people to get involved.
“Some might want to take part in all of the activities; others may fancy the golf or the bowling. Whatever your age there is something available. We even have pram pushes and toddle walks for the younger members of our community.” Details: www.wlct.org/activeliving
