Workers in fitness called on for survey
SkillsActive – the Sector Skills Council responsible for the tackling the skills gap in the health and fitness industry – is calling for health club employees to take part in the second Working in Fitness Survey.
Conducted in partnership with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and in association with Leisure-net Solutions, the survey is open to all people working in the UK fitness industry.
Last year, more than 1,000 employees took part in the survey, which is conducted online and is totally confidential, sayid head of research at SkillsActive, Muriel Bankhead.
The aim of the survey is to gain a thorough understanding of what it is like to work in the industry and, as such, employees are questioned on most aspects of their jobs from salary and benefits to training and future prospects.
“It’s really important that as many people take part as possible,” said Bankhead. “The results will also help SkillsActive complete its Sector Skills Agreement – this is your chance to affect the way fitness qualifications and skills are demanded, delivered and developed throughout the UK.”
Those completing the survey will be entered into a prize draw to win a free pass to this year’s FitPro Business Conference.
The survey will be online until 26 August. The results will then be printed in the December issue of the REPs Journal and presented at the SkillsActive/REPs Convention on 8 December 2005. Details: www.skillsactive.org or www.exerciseregister.org
