Xercise4Less ups ante on Scottish expansion with Edinburgh launch
Xercise4less has ramped up efforts to expand its footprint across Scotland with the launch of a new £1m health club in Edinburgh.
Opening on 17 April, the new site will be the fourth Xercise4Less gym in Scotland, bringing the group’s total investment across the country to £5m.The low cost gym chain aims to launch another 10 gyms north of the border by the end of the year, as it bids to reach 100 UK sites by the end of 2016.
“Not only is this our fourth gym opening in Scotland, but it demonstrates our commitment to providing accessible fitness to everyone across the country at unrivalled prices,” said Xercise4Less CEO Jon Wright.
“We have big expansion plans for Scotland with another 10 gyms in the pipeline before the end of the year, including Glasgow Cambridge Street and Clydebank.”
The new Edinburgh city centre gym, which spans 29,500sq ft (2,741sq m), will feature 400 pieces of equipment supplied by Matrix and sections including a ladies-only area, Free Weights area, Combat Zone, Cardio area, plus a large fitness studio that will feature over 40 free classes per week. Membership starts from £9.99 per month.
Joining the Edinburgh team as the new general manager is Ryan Clarke. With more than nine years’ experience in the fitness industry the 30-year-old has an ambitious vision for the club.
He said: “My biggest passion in life is sport and having worked in various fitness clubs across the country, I’m looking forward to putting my skills and industry knowledge in place to make Edinburgh Xercise4Less the best club in the business.”
