£5,000 for keen-eyed DLL employee
Work is underway on the 57th David Lloyd Leisure (DLL) club after a sharp-eyed employee spotted a potential site.
Susan Nash from David Lloyd Maidstone identified a former RAF base as a potential club site and has received £5,000 tax free through an employee suggestion scheme, which rewards any team member who identifies a potential site which the company subsequently builds on.
The site in Kings Hill, Kent, is ideally located for a health and fitness club said property director, David Penniston: “Not only will it have excellent visibility from the road, but it also benefits from residential areas nearby as well as a number of sizeable businesses in the area.”
The 7,500sq m (80,000 sq ft) development will be part of a major redevelopment in the area and will include five indoor and four outdoor tennis courts, two squash courts, a 25m indoor swimming pool, a 20m outdoor pool and a large fitness hall, as well as two aerobics studios.
In addition, the club will have a multi-sports hall with facilities for netball, badminton, five-a-side football and basketball.
There will also be a crèche, hair and beauty salon, sauna and steamroom and large spa bath area.
