Alliance Leisure wins Somerset club redevelopment contract
Alliance Leisure has won a £700,000 contract to fund and project manage the redevelopment of three Somerset leisure centres managed by Tone Leisure.
Work commenced at Wellington Sports Centre, Wellsprings Leisure Centre and Blackbrook Pavilion at the end of July and the results are expected to be unveiled to the local community in the autumn.
Wellington Sports Centre will be the first project to finish at the end of August, when the gym is extended into the crèche area to create a 45-station, 240sq m fitness suite boasting Precor CV stations complete with personal viewing screens.
Wellsprings Leisure Centre is undergoing a £240,000 project to extend its first floor fitness suite into an underused sauna and steam area on the ground floor.
The redevelopment, which will see the gym area grow to a 70-station, 375sq m fitness suite, is due to open at the beginning of September.
The ground floor area will be used for free weights, while the first floor gym will benefit from all new Precor CV equipment.
Blackbrook Pavilion will be the final project to finish, completing at the beginning of October. The centre is to benefit from a £400,000 redevelopment of two squash courts and the studio into a new 350sq m fitness suite. The current 200sq m gym will be converted into a new studio.
The 75-station fitness suite will be kitted with a range of re-manufactured equipment from PTE, as well as CV kit from the existing gym at Wellsprings Leisure Centre.
However, Precor has won a five-year contract to supply Tone Leisure’s CV equipment and the trust intends to upgrade the remaining re-manufactured equipment at Blackbrook Pavilion to Precor within the next three years.
The company’s partnership arm offers long-term support for business development through marketing literature, sales and promotions, systems and REPs accredited staff training to maximise revenue.
Alliance Leisure also provides ad-hoc support including off-the-shelf marketing literature, promotions and sales training.
