Galileo and chips
Distributed in the UK by Pipedreems, vibration training company Galileo has redesigned its patented, side-alternating machine to incorporate a chip card reader.
The move is to enable equipment owners to ensure that users are working out on the equipment safely even when gym staff are not present.
The user’s workout will be stored on a card similar to a credit card and inserted into the machine, which will then set up the equipment with customised frequencies and times for the individual customer.
As an additional feature the cards provided will be printed with the purchasing company’s logo.
The company says that the development will be significant to operators who may have previously had concerns over members staying on the equipment for longer than is recommended.
Using software provided, centre staff can create, edit and delete programmes by installing the card into a reader and attaching it to a PC via a USB cable.
