Mars sponsorship for Grass Roots Football
MARS® has announced further details regarding its collaboration with Grass Roots Football LIVE and with Powerleague as part of the 'MARS Balls Get Britain Playing' campaign.
The relationships with Grass Roots Football LIVE and Powerleague are part of a campaign to encourage the nation to play football and will see MARS giving away 100,000 footballs this summer.
The company is sponsoring the main stadium at Grass Roots Football LIVE - the only UK event to focus on the grass roots game - which will take place at the Birmingham NEC, from 30th May until 1st June.
The MARS stadium will be the hub of Grass Roots Football LIVE, where a range of interactive activities will take place encouraging people of all ages to participate in football. MARS branding will feature in the MARS Stadium on players' kits, footballs, event website and goody bags to be given away at the event.
Visitors to the stadium can enjoy 5-a-side games and celebrity matches with some of the most recognisable and accomplished football personalities including Paul Merson, Ray Parlour, Neville Southall, Steve Claridge and Steve Bull.
Through its promotion with Powerleague, MARS is offering football enthusiasts the opportunity to win one of 1,000 free hours of football on one of the many floodlit pitches. In addition to winning a free kickabout, each team could also receive a free MARS ball too.
This promotion will offer access to more than 350 pitches in 43 centres throughout the UK and each game will take place on a MARS branded pitch.
As part of the agreement the Powerleague database of 90,000 members will also receive a MARS branded e-newsletter informing them of the promotion.
