Matrix invests in space to grow with second UK warehouse facility
Matrix Fitness is opening a Midlands-based assembly and distribution facility to meet growing UK demand for its fitness equipment.
Matrix, which has an existing warehouse and assembly provision in Maldon, Essex, says the 85,000sq ft facility in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, will increase capacity for inventory and will optimise delivery schedules.
The central location, which is near the Matrix’ head office, benefits from links to the M1 and M6 motorways, reducing lead times for Midlands and northern-based customers. It also provides 15 new jobs for Staffordshire residents.
Rob Pearson, Matrix Fitness operations director, said: “Having assembly and warehousing facilities in both the South and Midlands allows so much more flexibility, which not only makes our whole operation more efficient, but also gives us the opportunity to react much faster to customer requirements.
“The addition of Marchington to our logistics’ framework has also enabled us to achieve better control over our inventory costs, while increasing stock, and optimising our service to customers.”
