Salto Systems has launched the new i-Locker lock, designed to introduce the latest in electronic access control to the locker room in a retro-fit format.

Upgrading a locker involves just removing the old lock and replacing it with an i-Locker lock.

Fastening screws on the inside of the i-Locker lock are adjustable to exactly the same dimensions as those typically found in most mechanical commercial locker and coin operated locks.

It can be fitted to most cupboards and cabinets as well.

The lock also features a large twist operated locking handle and its durable wipe clean construction is resistant to most chemicals. The access reader is built into the outside of the handle while the locking mechanism, electronic components and battery pack are all located on the inside of the locker door, safe from interference or vandalism.

The lock is available using standard RFID protocols or iButton fobs, allowing it to be easily integrated with a wide range of networked PC management systems. A feature is that staff can use their general ID for several applications in addition to opening their locker, and these can include general access control, cashless payment functions etc.

Audit trail and timed access features are built into the lock and a wide choice of ID-carriers are available.
