ALTeRD (Active Leisure Training eResource Development), the online learning and content management system for training providers, has launched an online resource for the new Active IQ qualification: 'Teaching Physical Activity to Children'.

It joins a portfolio of resources for CYQ and Active IQ-qualifications which training providers can offer to candidates through their own web site via the ALTeRD system.

The Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in 'Teaching Physical Activity to Children' is a vocationally related qualification (VRQ), at level 2 on the National Qualifications Framework and is accredited with 20 CPDs through REPs.

Candidates undertake online sessions and learning over the internet in the context of introducing sport and activity to kids, offering fun and enjoyable recreational activities, developing social skills and helping children grow as individuals.

Candidates will train to a professionally competent level, enabling them to plan and deliver a safe and effective physical exercise session (group and individual) for children up to the age of five years, and older children aged 5-11 years.
