Technogym kit for Wales' largest gym
The gym at the new LC centre in Swansea has been entirely kitted out with Technogym fitness equipment.
The LC - built on the original Swansea Leisure Centre site which has been gutted and rebuilt as part of a five-year, £32m project - was opened by HM The Queen in March and includes the largest gym in Wales.
Comprising 200 stations over two floors, the gym features Technogym fitness kit including the Excite CV range with Active Wellness TV and iPod docking, Selection Line resistance range, CardioWave and the Easy Line circuit.
The company also played a key role in terms of the actual layout and design of the gym itself. This included the provision of a demographic of potential users which indicated that a further 80 stations in addition to the 120 originally allowed for were required.
Of the layout, Richard Proctor, Chief Executive of the Trust which runs The LC said: "We wanted to take advantage of the stunning views of Swansea Bay which are visible in many areas of the gym and create a space which inspires rather than overwhelms and which is never intimidating."
The kit has been positioned in key areas within the gym and users can work out whilst taking in the scenery. Alternatively, they can plug in their own iPod or watch one of the integrated TV screens on the Excite equipment.
The ground floor of the gym features an emulating arc and fluid, natural lines throughout. The first floor is more focused towards strength and performance.
With over 2,000 employees across 14 branches, Technogym is present in over 100 countries. More than 65,000 wellness centres are equipped with Technogym and 35 million users train every day on Technogym equipment. Technogym was the official supplier for the past seven Olympic Games, from Sydney 2000 to PyeongChang 2018.
