WaterRower going into the closet
This year’s Leisure Industry Week show will see WaterRower unveiling both the WaterRower Cupboard and www.we-row.com, an interactive online training site.
The new cupboard has been created to store a WaterRower machine and a home office, whilst taking up the minimum space possible. Its design allows the WaterRower to be stored upright in the lower half of the cabinet, with the upper half opening to reveal a desk and shelves, providing a home for a PC or laptop, along with any WaterRower accessories.
The rower can be fixed in the cupboard, or can be free standing to allow the home office to be used independently. The cupboard comes in ash, cherry or walnut finishes to match the design of a machine.
WaterRower is also launching www.we-row.com, a free, interactive online rowing site.
Users connect their WaterRower to a PC and create a personal profile capturing data such as speed, distance and heart rate as they row.
Individual goals are set, and the user is 'ranked' against other rowers on the site, providing a highly motivational tool as users aim to beat their own personal goals and to rise up the league table.
The PC displays graphics as the user rows - further simulating the feel of actually rowing on water - and shows data such as heart rate and speed.
www.we-row.com is a free service, offering a range of training and racing options. 'Real-time racers' can ‘invite’ other users to log on simultaneously and race against them on their own WaterRower machines.
Individual racers can set the time, speed and distance of a virtual opponent, allowing them to monitor their progress each time they race.
