Wigan Council take on SHOKK qualification
SHOKK and Wigan County Council have increased youth activity provisions in the local area, with the recently completed four day level two qualification training course.
Fourteen delegates all who worked within the local community, completed SHOKK’s Level 2 VRQ “Teaching Physical Activity to Children”, awarded by Active IQ.
The course is specifically designed to provide delegates with underpinning knowledge and understanding of working with children age 0 to 11.
The skills gained included practical activity that is designed to engage all children and introduce the learner to new ideas.
These theoretic principles are the key foundation for delegates to develop their own sessions and leadership style and implement them in their class environment.
SHOKK offer the widest range of youth specific training courses in the UK and as market leaders they provide the best teaching and coaching available.
Through extensive research, SHOKK has developed a catalogue of REP’s accredited training and workshops, for example, Breaker, Extreme and Nutrition.
These provide fitness professionals with the tools to develop new and challenging classes. SHOKK pride themselves on understanding exactly what young people are looking for and provide physical activity that appeals to this demographic, regardless of ability or background.
The VRQ is 1 of 4 entry level courses on the SHOKK education pathway dependent on the delegate’s previous education and desired learning outcomes.
The course structure was designed by SHOKK and the vast adaptability of the programme links it to the Every Child Matters Government legislation and the recent Government 5 hour per week initiative.
