case study: Southwick Leisure Centre
Southwick Leisure Centre presented us with one of our biggest challenges to date – delivering a complete transformation of its fitness facilities in under five weeks. Never one to shy away from a challenge, we gave it absolutely everything, and the end result is one both we and the client are extremely proud of.

After a successful open tender where we beat off competition from some of the world’s biggest commercial fitness equipment suppliers, we were chosen by Southwick Leisure Centre to upgrade its gym facilities. Our cost-effective offer and the plans we presented really excited Southwick, showing a true understanding of their needs, as well as proposing a compelling and exciting vision for future site transformations.

Following the contract award, we undertook a thorough review of the project to make sure we had a complete understanding of the requirements and any additional needs that might have been missed earlier on. Next, we project managed all the external contractors on the build stage of the refresh, where the entire gym area was cleared, including the removal of flooring, ceiling, and decoration, as well as the old, tired Technogym equipment.

With a blank canvas in place, we could now bring to life the 2D and 3D designs we had previously wowed Southwick with. The ceiling was darkened and finished off with new LED lighting to make it look on-trend. Decoration and furnishings for the walls were carefully chosen to match the modern, futuristic style we were aiming for.

We replaced the well-trodden carpet with new, fresh flooring, installing an 8mm grey fleck rubber roll throughout, leading into an extended free weights area that we built up from its original depth to accommodate heavier equipment and create a more functional use for the space.

The second smaller gym area was currently underused, so we completely overhauled the space with darker decoration, covered windows, LED lighting and a sound system to transform it into a stylish cycling studio kitted out with stage bikes.

The final part of the project involved a four-day installation of equipment on the first-floor gym with limited access to the building. This was a hurdle we hadn’t anticipated, but we overcame the challenge by bringing in additional resources to manually install the equipment, with much of it having to be broken down and rebuilt in situ. The finished product was worth all the hard work.

In the end, Southwick has gone from being an underutilised, tired and dated local leisure centre gym to a stylish, modern and vibrant space. Our fitness solution exceeded the client’s expectations in every way, from the bespoke entrance desk and functional training area, through to the new flooring and complete selection of interactive touchscreen cardio machines, free weights, and selectorised strength and plate-loaded equipment – all handpicked from the Inspace range.

Since the project was completed, we’ve provided on-site training for staff and developed a full four-year update plan and roadmap for the space. Above anything else, this project demonstrates how we go above and beyond to provide a solution that truly meets the client’s needs. We were asked to solve problems and make the transition as easy as possible for the team at Southwick, and we did exactly that.

case study: Luxe Fitness
Luxe Fitness is the largest single-site project we’ve completed since our launch in 2021. The site was located in an old iconic building in the centre of Bristol, which threw up a number of challenges with building regulations and site access. The project was more than a year in length and the installation of the site took 10 days in total.

Inspace Fitness provided Luxe with a full range of premium specification touchscreen cardio equipment, a vast selection of strength, plate-loaded and free weights machines and benches, alongside a wide variety of accessories that all came from our very own accessory line.

We were also responsible for flooring the entire building with products from our premium flooring lines. Some areas were left with the original wooden flooring, while others were covered and protected by our tiles and rolls of varying thicknesses and finishes. A bespoke turf track was also delivered to finish off the functional area.

The functional space was a totally bespoke solution, from the initial design of the rig and the flooring layout to the choice of storage to best utilise the space we had. Early feedback has shown this area to be a huge success, with it being very well received by staff and members at the club who now have an amazing space to do pretty much whatever they want.

Working with this client was a dream, although incredibly challenging in parts. The client knew exactly what they wanted and was not afraid to push the limits and boundaries of what was possible. We addressed all the challenges and came out on top at every turn, providing totally bespoke solutions where needed and dealing with any obstacle or hurdles without any issues.

We strongly believe Luxe Fitness in Bristol is now one of the best clubs in the city. It has atmosphere by the bucket load and a really cool and trendy vibe that all stems from the owner’s vision and the great team of people he built around him. It was an enormous pleasure and honour to be chosen as the supplier for this amazing project.

case study: The Ministry (Ministry of Sound), London
During the early part of 2022 we were approached by the fitness director at The Ministry to look at a complete refresh of the Ministry’s fitness space and training studio. Following a consultation period of around two months and several designs we delivered an amazing end product in an incredible building in the heart of London.

The flooring was done in all areas using rubber roll and tile solutions that also included integrated platform areas within the functional rig and some really clever use of colour. There was also some challenges with underfloor drainage we needed to work around and provide additional sub floor protection.

As well as this we provided a number of bespoke storage solutions, free weight’s equipment, accessories, functional equipment and cardio, we were in all senses of the word the lead contractor in this project and are certain that the client was very happy and ready to work with us again! In fact, they are……!
